Born of an inherent need for preserving and saving the lives of those that serve, through care, service, innovation, and training.
THE IRON ARSENAL PROGRAM..
… was developed over years of refinement with those in the field and in austere environments, after directly assisting in the development of a nationally recognized defensive tactics and arresting program developed in the ‘80’s. After years of training our military, and various agencies it became frighteningly aware to Iron Arsenal’s founder that the antiquated views around violence, the mitigation of violence, and specifically the training for threat and violence, were not progressing with the rate and change of threat and violence in our society. Something had to change.
’The 47’ First Responder flag, (shown), contains 47 skulls. These skulls replacing the stars on the field of the flag, represent unnecessary, untimely losses, personally tied to Iron Arsenal’s founder. These losses occurred prior too, and ultimately drove the passion behind the program’s release in 2013.
“The ‘47’ is a solemn reminder why we do, what we do, every single day… To make sure our brothers and sisters on the front and last lines of service to our country and communities are safe guarded and empowered to come home to their families.”
- John Brown, Founder Iron Arsenal
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF IRON ARSENAL Training
SITUATIONAL AWARENESS & DEFINING REAL VIOLENCE
Situational awareness, behavior detection, and pre-indicator education are paramount. Violence and crime in our world is ever growing and evolving. With the consistent introduction of varying violent acts, daylight criminals, mob mentality and growing lack of basic respect, the opportunity for crime and violent acts grow. Learning to tap into, listen, and then act upon the empathetic nervous system and retrain the elastic mind is where 90% of violent acts can be avoided.
EVASION / ESCAPE / CONCEALMENT / COVER
Training the mind and body to work as one, under duress, adrenal dump, and the “fight, flight, or freeze” response is the next phase in protecting oneself, associates, or team members. Learning to use one’s heightened senses during these mental states, to acquire concealment or cover, and use the environment as a means of defense. Learning to identify and constantly move to “higher” ground, is an important skill set in any potentially violent situation.
DE-ESCALATION: PHYSICAL & VERBAL COMMUNICATION
De-escalating a potential physical confrontation, gaining verbal compliance, or enforcing procedural demands are the next line of defense in a high percentage of potentially violent interactions. Gaining a psychological advantage, once a threat is identified, through learned verbal strategies and physical demeanor, are the last lines of non physical compliance, defense, and safety strategies. These skills alone can be the difference in a violent situation or a peaceful interaction.
FRINGE ACTOR: THE PSYCHOLOGICAL & PHYSICAL READ + ACTIONABLE SKILLS
Demystifying the non compliant, potentially deadly, individual or group, and acting/responding in an first responder/operator safe + suspect controlled manner, is a priority skill set. We apply known and sensory adaptive techniques to “read” the potential threat through pressure tested skill development. When we engage, through action or reaction to the “read”, it is with high percentage control tactics, safely utilizing gross motor (targeting practitioner’s retention), skills unarmed & armed.
DIRECT COMPLIANCE, PERSONAL PROTECTION, & SELF DEFENSE TECHNIQUES
Utilizing an “opportunistic” approach, and incorporating biomechanics, kinesiology, and psychology principles to the legal right to defend one’s life,Force Continuum structure, and corporate guidelines, ensures high percentage control and compliance from any one or more assailants or bad actors. Techniques are derived from a myriad of formal martial art training and pressure tested, modern tactics training. Our training programs meet & exceed national education, corporate, LE and Mil specifications and requirements.
